Position: Procurement and Human Resources Assistant.

REPORTS TO: Head Of School

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: The procurement officer will be responsible for identifying external service providers for the purpose of purchase goods. Maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. The Successful candidate will work with senior management team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation and process purchase orders, supply agreement and documents in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports and summarize data including sales report.
  • Execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers (local and overseas) to ensure that all items are delivered to school on time.
  • Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
  • Ensure competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and administrative works.
  • Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
  • Schedule store visits and conduct competitor survey.
  • Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for purchasing request
  • Assist in managing and following up overseas orders.
  • Handling and monitoring of claims to overseas supply companies and vendors for defectives, shortage, missing school supplies.
  • Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders.
  • Purchase and issue order in accordance to specification.
  • Source for new parts, suppliers or sub-contractors when the need arises.
  • Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Monitor sickness and absence levels and provide monthly reports to the Head of School.
  • Manage the information held on the HR database and personnel files to ensure it is updated in a timely and accurate manner and complies with any legal or data protection policies.
  • Participate in the selection of staff, as appropriate
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • B. SC/HND in Accountancy or Business Administration or Marketing
  • Minimum of 3 years adequate experience in an international organization.
  • Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development together with evidence of continuing professional development.

JOB TITLE: SECURITY OFFICER – GD 1

REPORTS TO: Security Manager 

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: The Security Officer will promote attitudes of student responsibility and ensure the safety of students, staff and the security of facilities and information at the American International school of Abuja campus and residences.

 

  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning,directing and supervising school security operations
  • Monitor,review,and report on security operations
  • Assist in the contract management of a 24/7 guard force, ensuring all contract requirements for training,equipment, staffing etc. are met.
  • Perform administrative clerical support functions as it relates to security operations.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Assist in the distribution,safeguarding,and maintenance of communication and security related equipment.
  • Assist in conducting physical security assessments and coordinate requests and upgrades when vulnerabilities are identified. Identify training needs of school security staff and assist in the planning, coordinating, administering and evaluating of training programs and personnel.
  • Mayincidentallyperform thedutiesofsubordinatepersonnel orassistinguardduties and access control.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Perform related work atthedirection oftheHead of School.

 

Qualifications

  • The Security Officer shall:
  • Hold at least, HND/University Degree in any Social Sciences discipline.
  • Have Five (5) years of experience as a Security Officer or show evidence of successful experience working in academic institutions.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft tools
  • Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance given by the Police.
  • During the past five year period, provide a sworn statement that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities of a Security Officer.
  • Special preference will be given to retired Military, Police or Para-military personnel with Discharge certificates.

Salary: NGN70, 000. 00 (Seventy thousand Naira)

Job Expectations

The Security staff is expected to perform all duties relating to Safety and Security for students, staff and facilities on campus and residence of American International School of Abuja.

REPORTS TO:  Security Manager

WORKING HOURS:Day Shift 0600hrs – 1800hrs

Night Shift1800hrs – 0600hrs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NCE, HND, BA, BS, BSc
  • Minimum of Two (2) years of experience working in the field of Security and/or in school
  • Excellent integrity and good moral character and initiative
  • Good interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to communicate in Hausa is preferred
  • Police Clearance is required
  • Health Certificate is required
  • Ex-Military, Police or Para-military personnel with Discharge Certificate is preferred
  • Evidence of some security training

Salary: NGN40, 000.00 per month
